Ahhh a trip down memory lane.
Don't you love those things that just one sight, or smell, or taste of it brings back a flood of memories! This happened to me this lovely afternoon. This post will especially strike a chord for the girls out in California who I grew up with, especially Melinda and Robyn. When I got home from working out this afternoon my mom had a bag of Carmel Apple suckers laying on the counter! Ahhhhh heaven at it's finest! Amazing green apple suckers wrapped in chewy Carmel, whoa my mouth is watering. All through junior high and high school my mom had a huge green glass jar packed to the rim with Carmel apple suckers. They were there for the taking by anyone and everyone. It was always our goal to try to find the ones covered with a really thick layer of carmel. Yum! Now for anyone who lives here in Iowa, and has never tried one of these, PLEASE let me know so I can make sure that you get to enjoy this bliss. My girls are hooked and I love it. I want to know what your "things" are that bring back a flood of memories. Maybe there are things that I missing out on!
Embellishing....it runs in the genes!
You can ask anyone....my mom and I love to get crafty. Well you better believe that I am taking full advantage of my moms sheer creative genius while she is here in town. We are totally obsessed! We are embellishing everything the girls own, from hats, to p.j.'s , and costumes, to even dress-up clothes. Buttons, ribbons, fake cheapy rhinestones, and craft glue, to me, are a girl's best friend! We love it all! Our goal is to take something simple and make is a masterpiece! It is such a blast to do and things turn out to be just darling, if I do say so myself. My mom and I were laughing cause instead of being wealthy Moguls who "flip homes," we love to flip clothes! We find steals at stores and then turn them into gold. Haha, except we don't sell them and make money. Wait! Man what have I been doing all of this time? We could have been making money! Oh, well the girls look fabulous! Here are pictures of the girls in their new beanies for the winter. We made these flowers and just attached them to the hats to add a little flare! Easy and Fun.

The Howell Tree Farm
I love the Howell Tree Farm so you can imagine how happy I was yesterday when we went with the Groberg's there. This was our 3rd and final year attending the farm since we move in May. So sad! I can not even believe how fast time flies and how much our little families have grown since we have moved here. Well here are our pictures, I hope you enjoy, we sure did!

Grandma Rawson is here!
Hooray Grandma Rawson is finally here! She arrived safely here on Wednesday afternoon and we are all just thrilled! My mom was able to go to Madeleine's last soccer practice/game on Thursday and spend a lot of play time with the girls. Here are some pictures of Madeleine's LAST soccer practice and the girls playing dress up with some of the gifts that grandma came bearing for the girls. Thanks mom!

Cute Grandma and Elisabeth cheering for Madeleine on the sidelines.
Madeleine and Gage's favorite water-break pass time.... Climbing the tree.
Gage and Madeleine posing for their final soccer pictures.
Finally the kids get to enjoy an official soccer game instead of just practice and of course Madeleine camps out by the goal fuming mad because, "Mom they are not sharing the ball with me!" Oh dear we still need to teach our little girl to be aggressive! How do we go from engraving the action of "always sharing and taking turns" to now "taking charge of the ball, being aggressive, and getting that ball from everyone and scoring?" Whoa...yet another teaching bump in the road of parenting.
Finally pictures of the girls playing Little Mermaid dress up with grandma and having a ball!
Here is our Hoodlem hood-Rat Mermaid.
"The RE-Race for the Pure"
So because the girls were so sick last weekend Dan and I missed what was to be his very first official race. The race for the Cure. I love running and racing so you can imagine just how disappointed I was when we were a no show to the race. Well I decided that there was no way that I was going to let this inability to attend the race bring us down. Let us all press on, right? So ....I got one of my silly ideas and decided to surprise Dan with our new entry in the "RE-Race for the Pure." It is my own crazy made up version of a race for us to run. Well I waited to surprise Dan about the race until Friday night. I handed him his "race packet" and of course he rolled his eyes and said, No!!!! How could he turn down his wife's hard work and preparations for this monumental race. You know this could be an annual race depending on the entrants and our race times...you never know!!! So he laughed and said, "Okay, I will run the "race" with you." Well we woke up early Saturday morning to get over to the race, making sure not to be late for the 7:30am start time of course, and we were RAINED OUT!!!! Now we could have run this race in the rain if it was just Dan and I. We had the girls with us and there was no way that we were going to make them sit in their strollers in the cold rain all for their mommies kicks and giggles of running a race with daddy. Dan with a huge smirk and sigh of relief said, "The Rain -Gods must not want us to run this race." Ohhhh, I was so sad. Yet again we will have to postpone this race for another day! Am I ever going to get my chance to run a glorious race with my husband? To that I say, "DEFINITELY!" We will succeed if it is the last thing I do. Next weekend I guess.

The end of the day yesterday.
So I posted yesterday about how great the day was. I now realize that it was the calm before the storm. About 7:30 yesterday evening I looked at our recently happy chirpy little girl Madeleine and noticed her squatting in the kitchen over some vomit. I quickly picked her up to walk her to the bathroom and she spewed ALL over me in the hall. My poor baby girl. A warm bath, 7 more times throwing up and many a diarrhea later, we were on our way to the E.R. to check this nightmare out. They quickly gave her an I.V. , did some tests, and an X-Ray. She was sent home almost 5 hours later at 4am this morning, hydrated, recovering, and well versed in the movies Little Mermaid and Cinderella. They prescribed the lucky girl some Zofran, truly a miracle drug "sent from on high!" This morning we need to take her urine sample back to the hospital for testing. So now we are just waiting for some her to give us some urine. Needless to say this is a silly but frustrating process for us right now. Good news is that as of now, she only has a really bad Flu. She will be okay and is already looking and acting much better! We love our little Boogsie and are so proud of what a big girl she has been. Well another day and better times hopefully in the future to come....soon!
P.S. I don't think that I have ever posted or a matter of fact written anything that I have ever used the word "URINE" in it so many times. Sorry kind of Gross!
GET BETTER MADELEINE!!

Another day, another Post.
Today has been a wonderful day. It has been really low key and I have been able to enjoy time with my two favorite girls in the world, Madie and Lizzy. Not only did I see my friends Haley Mollerup and Karen Dance at separate times today at Target (which is fun and a rarity for me...I never see anyone while shopping), BUT I saw the greatest must-have-of-the-month! You see I love "Simply Orange." It is soooo good and completely 100 % fruit juice. Needless to say " Simply Orange" is always stocked in our fridge. But my new discovery, you might ask? They now make "Simply Apple." This stuff is the absolutely amazing. In the picture the color of the apple juice looks really grody but it so fresh and so yummy! The girls love, love, love this stuff! On to the next reason why this day is so wonderful! I was looking online, like I usually do for fun new recipe ideas to try and I found this amazing recipe on the food network here:
http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,,FOOD_9936_29942,00.html
The girls and I decided to try this new recipe out and viola....it's a beauty. I love good eats, especially good TREATS!
So on a really funny note. Dan was playing with the girls on Wednesday night and was just messing around with one of my Pony tail holders that he found on the ground. (p.s one of the many that are mysteriously hidden in our cushions, under the bed or couch, or in any crevice possibly known to man for a ponytail holder to end up. ) Moms love the classic ponytail, am I right, or am I right moms? To continue on with the story, he was flinging it up towards the ceiling and check out what his bad self did! You have got to look at the picture really closely. He flung the ponytail holder and it stuck onto the "cottage cheese" of the ceiling! (p.s. I hate cottage cheese on ceilings...it is soooo ugly and outdated.) Honestly, it is my FAVORITE thing when random things like this happens. It makes me laugh so much!
Yes, my husband has "mad skills." The funny thing is that this picture was just taken, TWO days later and it is still there! Impressive huh? We are going to see how long it can stay up there. We will let you know the days and counting until it falls. Wow, what an exciting life, huh? HaHaHa! Well I am excited for Conference weekend and will be sure to have another post, another day! Have a great weekend!
